How do I take part in the YouLead Summit 2022?

Simply open a user profile on the YouLead portal, then proceed to register to participate in YouLead Summit and its pre-summit activities available on the portal.

Who convenes the YouLead Summit?

Since 2017, YouLead Summit has been convened annually by the East African Community (EAC), MS Training Center for Development Cooperation (MSTCDC) and other partners in Arusha Tanzania through their youth engagement initiatives – the EAC Youth Ambassadors Platform and YouLead– Africa Youth Leadership Program respectively.

In 2021, the East African Business Council (EABC) joined the partnership with focus on promoting youth participation in trade.

In 2022, in the spirit of GOING AFRICA, Southern Africa Youth Forum(SAYoF) has joined the partnership as a major convening partner for YouLead Summit 2022 going forward.

How many delegates are expected to participate?

Often, 300-500 delegates have attended YouLead Summit in previous editions. The 2022 edition aims at bringing together 2000 physical delegates and many more in thousands participating virtually.

How is the summit funded?

Some participants and costs of organizing are fully sponsored by partners, other participants are self funded.

Do delegates receive any form of payment, allowances or per diems?

Participation in the YouLead Summit doesn’t attract any form of monetary payment for anyone.

What is the cost of participation for the summit?

There are three categories of delegates for YouLead Summit: Fully sponsored delegates, partially sponsored delegates and self sponsored delegates. All delegates (sponsored or/and non sponsored) who wish to participate in-person (physically) need to pay $50 as a contribution to meals, break teas, conference facilities and in-conference ground transport (shuttle) services.
